The short answer to this depends on the policy. An insurance policy is a contract just like any other contract, and the terms of that contract govern the duties of each party. So if, for example, you’re in an auto accident and the person who hit you allowed somebody to drive that didn’t have a license, and the insurance company says that it’s not going to cover accidents where the person doesn’t have a license, then yes, the insurance company can deny the claim.
