Indiana CPAP Recall Lawyer

Sometimes products are later determined to be defective or contaminated. That type of defect or contamination can often result in an injury or disease. If you or a loved one have been injured using certain Philips CPAP and BiPAP machines, it is important to have an experienced attorney by your side to help find answers that can lead to compensation for an injury.

Philips CPAP Recall Due to Degrading Sound-Dampening Foam

In July 2021, the FDA issued an alert to people using Philips Respironics ventilators, BiPap, and CPAP machines that Philips Respironics has recalled certain devices due to potential health risks that include exposure to cancer-causing chemicals.

The recalled machines in question use polyester-based foam to reduce sound and vibration within these devices. This foam may break down and release debris or chemicals into the device’s air pathway, which may then be inhaled or swallowed.

The manufacturer, Philips Respironics, has recalled multiple devices manufactured between 2009 and April 26, 2021, with more than half of them being located in the U.S. Nearly 80% of the affected devices are CPAP machines, with the remaining being ventilators.
