Mother and Twin Daughters Die in Speeding Truck Collision

When a speeding truck driver rear-ended and killed a mother and her twin daughters, WKW learned that the trucking company had hired another company to vet the driver before hiring him. It turned out that the truck driver had a poor driving record with previous accidents, terminations, and a conviction for falsely stating information to obtain his CDL. A lawsuit was instituted claiming negligence on the part of the company that did the vetting. Suing a truck driver vetting company was very unusual and one of the first of its kind. The case was settled by Bill Winingham and Jon Noyes at mediation.
