Bill Winingham & Jon Noyes Named Trial Lawyers of the Year

Bill Winingham, Jon Noyes named Indiana Trial Lawyers of the Year

The Indiana Trial Lawyers Association (ITLA) named WKW partner Bill Winingham and attorney Jon Noyes as its 2022 Trial Lawyers of the Year.

ITLA awards this distinction to a trial lawyer who among other things goes above and beyond to uphold the honor of the legal profession; works to protect the rights of injured victims and consumers, and earns admiration and respect for trial lawyers as a result of noteworthy activities. Attorneys across the state submit nominations to be vetted by the association’s board of governors.

Bill and Jon worked tirelessly to convince the Indiana Supreme Court that private companies should not be immune from compensating Hoosiers harmed by their negligence. As a result, Bill and Jon were jointly nominated by multiple peers for Trial Lawyer of the Year consideration.

Other notable, recent accomplishments include reaching a Federal Court resolution on behalf of those unfairly penalized through the Riverlink Kentucky Bridges toll system and successfully representing the ITLA amicus committee in efforts to hold insurance companies accountable. Bill is also serving his second term on the Judicial Nominating Commission, helping to ensure the nominees forwarded to the Governor were fair and impartial.

As one letter of recommendation read, “They help so many citizens of this state as well as many lawyers by their commitment, leadership, and willingness to help.”

We couldn’t agree more.

The Trial Lawyers of the Year will be honored at a luncheon during ITLA’s 58th Annual Institute in November.
