Driver Suffers Brain Injury in Two-Semi Collision

WKW attorney Bill Winingham represented a southern Indiana couple against two trucking companies whose trucks went out of control in icy conditions on the interstate, causing one semi to crash into the rear of the car. One of the injured suffered traumatic brain injuries, and the other had back injuries.

Due to conflicting witness reports, WKW hired an accident reconstruction expert witness to explain how the movement of the two trucks contributed to the crash and traveled to Canada to obtain video deposition testimony from the second of the two truck drivers. Neuropsychological testing revealed the extent of the deficits caused by the traumatic brain injuries, and a video settlement documentary demonstrating the struggles of daily life for our injured clients was used to settle the case at a settlement conference in Federal Court for a confidential sum.
