Dubai Airport Terminal Shuttle Accident

An international airline passenger was injured while being transported via shuttle between gates at the Dubai airport. The shuttle operator allegedly clipped a post, causing the passenger’s leg to be bent back and resulting in lower leg and knee injuries.

Suit was brought by WKW in federal court in the United States under the Montreal Convention. This international treaty governs flights between signatory countries and provides a strict liability provision. Even though the injury occurred in the airport terminal, the injured passenger could still recover as she was in the process of “embarking” under the treaty’s language.

WKW was able to successfully resolve the case in federal court.
