WKW held a book drive to support the Joseph Maley Foundation (JMF). The books will be used to support a variety of programs they host every year.

Joseph Maley Foundation

JMF is a nonprofit organization that was established in 2008 to carry on the legacy of Joseph Maley. Joseph was born in 1990 with a myriad of disabilities, but they did not limit him. He accepted those around him with unconditional love and enthusiasm, and he inspired everyone to be their best selves. Joseph died at eighteen from leukemia. In the spirit of his total acceptance of all, his parents started JMF with the mission of “serving children of all abilities.”

WKW Book Drive

The foundation works to build acceptance of individuals of all abilities through programs that engender compassion and respect for the diversity of life. The books collected by WKW will support three JMF curriculum-based programs:

  • Disability Awareness: works to dispel perceptions individuals may have of people living with disabilities
  • Service Day: teaches the importance of serving others in the community
  • We Step Up: creates a generation of leaders committed to standing up for respect of our differences and standing against bullying
