Wilson Kehoe Winingham attorney Bruce Kehoe was recently interviewed for an article in the Indiana Lawyer newspaper. The article titled, Committee Plans Medical Malpractice Checkup, focuses on the possibility of the State of Indiana raising the cap on damages in medical malpractice cases. Currently, the state has a cap on damages at $1.25 million. In the instance mentioned in the article, Bruce Kehoe is currently representing an individual who underwent a botched heart surgery that destroyed his heart and led to renal failure. The client had to have a complete heart transplant. In this instance, the client’s medical bills alone exceed $5 million.
Bruce Kehoe’s case will challenge the medical malpractice cap as unconstitutional.
