Mold on floor On January 10th, 2020, the Monroe County Court approved class certification of a lawsuit brought by students against Indiana University. The lawsuit arises from mold infestations in the University’s dormitories during the 2018-2019 school year.

The students allege that the University was aware of the severe mold conditions in its dormitories and failed to provide clean, safe, and habitable living conditions, and furthermore, took measures to mislead students and cover up the real danger of the ongoing problem before and after the school year. As a result, the students claim that the University breached its contract with them by providing them with substandard housing and made them ill by exposing them to dangerous mold.
