WKW attorney Bruce Kehoe is the president of the Indiana Trial Lawyers Association (ITLA) College of Fellows. Each year, the fellows choose a project to give back to the community. This year, the ITLA Fellows decided to hold an essay contest with the prompt “right to trial by jury.” The winner would receive a scholarship for their work.

Upon deliberation between 20 contestants, the Indiana Historical Society and the members of the ITLA College of Fellows awarded Jessica Borum, a senior at North Central High School, the  2016 scholarship for her exceptional work.

In the fall of 2017, Jessica will be attending Arizona University to work toward a degree in education. Her educational interests rest in early childhood reading skills. Jessica’s plan is to focus on the Orton-Gillingham early reading curriculum.

Arizona University was an easy choice for Jessica: She has arthritis, and the Arizona climate will ease her arthritic symptoms. That fact, coupled with the university’s great education program, means Jessica is looking at a very promising future.

Congratulations, Jessica! Speaking for all of the fellows, the Indiana historical society, and all of our WKW attorneys, we wish you luck in your future endeavors.
