What Are Common Types of Birth Injuries?

Transcript

Birth injury cases have been a focus of my practice in this law firm for really the full 30 years that I’ve been a lawyer here at Wilson Kehoe Winingham.

They can take several forms. Typically, it can be the failure to timely perform a Cesarean section when one is needed—when the fetal monitor tracings show that the child on board can be in risk of a lack of good oxygen and blood flow to the brain.

We can have children, babies, on board who are harmed through medication issues that can occur during the mother’s pregnancy. We’ve also had mechanical injuries of the baby not being managed well traveling through the birth canal, which can result in injuries to the nerve supply of the neck and arm and end up in a partial paralysis.
