Aviation Accidents

Aviation cases can involve private, military and commercial airplanes and helicopters. Sorting through the issues of poor flight planning, weather and product failures requires extensive litigation experience in aviation. Our staff includes three licensed pilots with a wide range of ratings and experience. Our licensed attorney pilots hold a commercial license, flight engineer certificate, instrument and multi-engine aircraft ratings as well as flight experience in Boeing 727s and many private aircraft. During the investigation of an airplane crash, our pilots often fly the same flight path as the one in question in a similar aircraft in order to understand the potential causes and develop the strongest case. Their knowledge of aviation is a tremendous advantage in pursuing a claim for damage.

There may be many different causal factors surrounding an aircraft accident. Some of these factors include:

  • Faulty equipment
  • FAA regulation violations
  • Pilot errors
  • Problems in the design or structure of an aircraft
  • Flight service station employee negligence
  • Negligence in a third party selection of a carrier
  • Federal Air Traffic Controller negligence
