A 14-year-old driving a stolen SUV crashed into a pickup truck on the evening of June 19th, critically injuring the pickup driver. According to Indianapolis Metropolitan Police, the boy was driving at a high rate of speed, blew past a stop sign, and collided with the truck near Post and I-70.
EMS technicians had to rescue the 53-year-old man from the wrecked pickup truck. An ambulance took him to IU Health Methodist Hospital in “extreme critical condition,” according to police on the scene.
The teen suffered only minor injuries. Emergency responders took him to Eskenazi Hospital for evaluation. The boy’s grandmother had reported the SUV stolen before the crash occurred.
